All coaches are available for private lessons, $20/half hour. A sign-up folder will be at the pool entry desk. Priority will be given to swim/dive team members.
Michelle Doolin, Head Swim Coach
Michelle began her coaching career in her hometown, Paris, KY, where she was the head coach of the Paris-Bourbon County YMCA Sharks the summer of 1998. In 1999, she was an assistant coach at Spindletop and in 2000 she was named the head coach at Lansdowne. She graduated from Transylvania University in 2001 where she was a four-year varsity letter winner in swimming and earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology. From 2004 – 2006, she served as assistant swim coach at Transylvania University. During the winter, she is a stay at home mom with her two sons, Cash and Hayes. She is married to Dave Doolin, head coach of the Lexington Dolphins.
Cassie Critchfield Perkins, Head Diving Coach
Cassie began her diving career at Lansdowne in 1991 and began her coaching career there in 1998. She is a 1999 graduate of Henry Clay High School where she finished as high as tenth at the state level and contributed to Girls State Swimming and Diving Champions. She graduated from Transylvania University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. At Transy, she was a four-year varsity letter winner and holds the team record for 3-meter diving (11 dive meet). From 2003-2004, she was the head dive coach for Dunbar High School. Cassie lives in Atlanta, GA with her husband Derek. She teaches Pre-K at The Heiskell School and Derek is the aquatic coordinator and assistant swim coach at Emory University.
Jillian Baker, Assistant Swim Coach
Jillian began her coaching career at Lansdowne in 2002 after graduating from Dunbar High School and completing a very successful swimming career with the Lexington Y Dolphins. With Dolphins, she was a member of the National Team and with Dunbar she helped lead the Bulldogs to Girls State Swimming and Diving Champions in 2001 and Combined State Championships in 2001 and 2002. She was a member of the 400 freestyle relay team who held the KHSAA Region 5 record and was a team record holder for Dunbar High School in the 400 freestyle relay as well. She graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and currently teaches first grade at Maxwell Spanish Immersion Magnet Elementary School.
Travis Graves, Assistant Swim Coach
Travis joined the Signature Club staff in 2005. He is a 2002 graduate of Woodford County High School and a 2006 graduate of Transylvania University. At Transy, he earned a degree in Biology and was a four-year varsity letter winner in swimming. He served as men’s team captain for three seasons and he received the NAIA character award along with BGMC all conference three of his four years. Travis is currently working as a surgical nursing assistant at Central Baptist and will begin medical school at the University of Kentuckyin the fall.
Kyle Libra, Assistant Swim Coach
Kyle is from Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Park Hill South High School in 2004. He has been swimming competitively for 13 years. He swam for the Kansas City Blazers Swim Club and now swims for Transylvania University. His high school swimming honors include 4-year first team all conference and 2-year all state. At Transylvania, he made the All-Bluegrass Mountain Conference team as a freshman and a sophomore and was a member of the 2005 Bluegrass Mountain Conference Champion Team. Kyle is majoring in political science and plans to attend law school. Before coming to the Signature Club last year, he coached summer league in Kansas Cityfor two summers.
